Mourinho attacks Real players again after Sevilla

MADRID, Sept 16 (Reuters) - True Madrid coach Jose Mourinho again criticised the attitude of a large portion of his squad after the champions fell 1-0 at Sevilla, to slip eight points adrift of leaders Barcelona on Saturday.

Genuine conceded after only two minutes at the Sanchez Pizjuan when Piotr Trochowski volleyed in unmarked at a corner, and they had been outfought in a bruising encounter that left them with 4 points from their initial 4 games.

"I am only worried about my team," Mourinho told a news conference when asked concerning the points gap on their arch-rivals Barca, who won 4-1 at Getafe earlier in the day to preserve their 100 percent record.

"I am worried that considering that the season began officially we've only actually played properly in the Spanish Super Cup. Nowhere else. More than the points I'm worried that within this moment I do not have a group.

"Congratulations to Sevilla, they deserved to win without any doubt. We got the prize we deserved taking into consideration how badly we played."

Madrid opened their campaign using a 1-1 draw at home to Valencia, were shock 2-1 losers at Getafe and after beating Barca to lift the Spanish Super Cup, strolled to a 3-0 win at home to Granada.

The Granada win, however, just prior to the two-week break for internationals, saw Cristiano Ronaldo hit the headlines.

The world's most expensive player told reporters following the game, when he failed to celebrate scoring two objectives, that he was 'sad', for 'professional reasons' and that the club knew why.

With no official comment from the True hierarchy, regional media has been complete of speculation that Ronaldo was seeking a greater contract, that he wanted to leave, or that he did not feel he earned the respect of his team-mates along with the fans he felt he deserved.

"It's got absolutely nothing to do using the rumour of the last two weeks," Mourinho stated when asked in the event the Ronaldo predicament had unsettled his team.

"I don't believe these days was any different for the games we played against Getafe or Granada. To me, it's to perform together with the collective spirit.

"There are quite couple of heads that are committed and concentrated, and who've football as the priority in their lives. If you do not have people who are committed, it really is hard.

"But I am the coach, and if you can find individuals who aren't committed it is my fault."

Mourinho's controlled and measured outburst against his players comes following a equivalent attack following their defeat at Getafe.

"At the break, I changed two players but I wanted to adjust seven," he added.

"The image of my group at this moment is a group without having concentration, without having the willingness to compete. When you evaluate Genuine with Sevilla it really is easy to realize.

"For Sevilla, every single ball was the last 1 in their life. They played with excellent aggression in every thing. They wanted to play swiftly, move the ball speedily.

"My team did it against Barcelona, and have not accomplished it in any other game."
